How can I capture variations or delays in QicWorks?


I need to capture and track my variations and delays costs? How do I do this in QicWorks?


There are a number of ways in which you can track how much your variations or delays are costing you within QicWorks.  
Option 1: Set up a node within your WBS Cost Structure to capture these values
Option 2: Create a specific Task within your Job to track these costs, or
Option 3: The best way! Create and use Task Categories.

Task Categories Explained

Task categories allow you to flag varying types of work and then be able to report on these easily.

You can even change the category on the fly from one to another, say a delay into a variation.

Task Categories are as the name mentions, they are captured at task level. Task levels have extraordinary flexibility and reporting capability’s

  2. Assign supervisors
  3. Assign resources
  4. Assign materials
  5. Assign order numbers
  6. Change charge rates
  7. Alter pay rules
  8. Plan and schedule
  9. Monitor progress
  10. Set priorities
  11. Set milestones
  12. Set check lists
  13. Set billing type
  14. Assign procurement and expenses items
  15. Invoice this item separately
  16. Capture time and cost
  17. Capture daily reports photos and client signatures
  18. Change status to lock or make available

You can easily filter content by selecting one or more category’s, remembering “Task” is the default (Being everything except for remaining categories)
